Il Casone è un palazzo pluricentenario davanti al Molo
Archetti. Altri nomi sono "il Palazzo delle Lavandaie" e "il
Palazzo degli Specchi". Anticamente i pescatori pegliesi, al
largo della costa, identificavano questo palazzo per le
finestre che riflettevano i raggi del sole e così venne dato
il soprannome. Una leggenda metropolitana locale narra di un
gerarca che scoperto il tradimento della moglie, la relegò
all'ultimo piano del casone nel lato sinistro, per allievare
le pene della povera donna, le fece costruire un balcone che
rimarrà unico nella struttura.

"Mirrors Palace".
This name was given by
the fishermen, who
identifided this building
off
the coast, by the windows
that reflected the sun rays. Another
story
tells
of a hierarch who, having

betrayal, relegated her
to the top floor
on the left side of the
large house.
Later, he had
a
balcony
built
to ease the poor
woman pain.
This balcony
will remain
the only one in the
structure.
